"How do dinosaurs..." is one of those picture book series that captures the imagination of little boys and girl right from page one.
Not only are these colossal creatures always a hit with children, the scenarios they are put in sound very familiar to our little learners. They go to school, learn new things and are a bit stroppy from time to time.
This first book I will share with you is all about 'learning to read'. And in particular, how dinosaurs do it!
Enjoy the Read along video below:

A Squash and A Squeeze a Classic Picture book by the award winning duo Julia Donaldson and Axel Sheffler.
This is definitely one of those books that belongs in everyone's Home library AND in the classroom! Not only does it teach a valuable lesson about being happy and thankful about your situation or the things you already posses.
It also introduces some great vocabulary for the younger learners. Some of the adjectives introduced are going to be new to the children and they will be able to use these to enrich their language and improve writing.

Winnie has always been my favourite witch! Do you know Winnie the Witch and her black cat Wilbur? If not, you should!
Listen to the very first story in this amazing series of books. Winnie the Witch and her Big Black House.
Everything in Winnies house is black - the carpet, the chairs, the bed and the sheets, the pictures on the walls, and even the bathtub! And of course her cat, Wilbur, is black too - all except for his bright-green eyes. Whenever poor Wilbur closes his eyes and tries to take a catnap, Winnie stumbles right over him. Or accidentally sits on top of him. We ask ourselves the question: 'What would happen if he was a different colour?"
I hope you enjoy listening to the story as much as I do reading this book in class, over and over again!

Meg and Mog
The first book in a long list of wonderful picture books adored by all children.
Meg and Mog's first adventure starts off with Meg waking up to prepare for the 'Hallowe'en Spell Party'. The story is easy to follow and the illustration are simple, yet beautiful. You and your children will love the vivid colours and they will be able to explore shapes and sounds used in the book.
Not only is it a great book for your Halloween themed topics but is can be used across all other areas of learning as well. One example is helping Meg count items added to her cauldron.
I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I have!
